Hands up who know what the most popular colour in lanyards is for New Zealand. If you happened to be one of the smart people that said black lanyards, then you’d be right. I think on a ratio basis, for every two lanyards sold, one would have to be a black lanyard. I personally think they look great and when you add a white or silver print, the logos or advertising slogans really stand out.
It may be something that others tease us about, but I think black is cool and makes much more sense that a light lanyard that will show up dirt and grime
You can get black lanyards in many different styles. The most popular are the bootlace style made from woven polyester material or the flat style ribber polyester lanyards, both of which can come in black and many other colour options. If your budget allows you could also opt for woven lanyards that have a much higher perceived value, but whatever you choose, in my opinion black lanyards are cool!

Not sure if you’re having a dig or not, but I’ve got no problem with black lanyards. Every country needs a colour to identify with and I don’t see why black would be an issue. Almost every other year all the fashio design gurus keep saying “black” is the new “white” – it’s just a hell of a lot easier to keep clean!
I’m with Geoff on this one. Imagine us having a Rugby team called the “All Orange”. The “All Blacks” makes us sound strong, so if people translate that into ordering black lanyards, then I say good on them.
Black is cool! They always look great and we should wear them proudly! Black goes with everything and is a colour all New Zealanders identify with.
I reckon the best thing you could put on a Black Lanyard would be a Pavlova. Cause we invented it and nothing says KIWI like Black!!!
